750HP Aston Martin vs 626HP Mercedes SLR McLaren vs 560HP Nissan GT-R


Here's further proof that horsepower numbers can be hugely deceiving. A completely stock Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren with 626-ponies goes up against a lightly tuned Nissan GT-R with a Stage 2 kit and 560-horses and in a separate race, an Aston Martin DBS upgraded with a supercharger by Mansory pushing out 750-horsepower.

Lada Riva Sedan Highway Spin Deserves a Chuck Norris Approved Stamp


Continuing our series of epic videos on Lada's Riva family car, here's another abnormal incident that took place on a highway in Russia.

While it doesn’t take a genius to see that the conditions of the road are unsafe and therefore one should be extra careful, especially when driving an archaic rear-wheel drive vehicle like the Riva (also known as the Nova, 2105 etc.), the person behind the wheel of the Lada doesn’t seem to care.

Lada Station Wagon Flies Into a Snow Bank


For some strange reason, certain Russian owners of Lada's classic Riva series believe that their car is an invisible machine on wheels built for extreme speeds.

Carlos Ghosn Officially Confirms Rebirth of Datsun Brand in 2014, Reveals New Logo


A couple of weeks back, we told you about the rumors regarding Nissan's plans to revive its Datsun brand for emerging markets. Today, Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO Carlos Ghosn made it official during a visit to Indonesia where he met with the country's president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

While addressing the media, Ghosn announced the return of the Datsun brand, which will become Nissan's third global brand after Nissan and Infiniti, while also revealing the firm's new logo.

Ford Mustang Drifts Over Cement Median and into Peugeot 107


Did the driver of this modded, fifth gen Ford Mustang attempt to drift on purpose or did he simply enter the turn a bit too fast and lost control of the car? Who knows.

The end result is that he (or she, we can't be sure) slid right over the cement median and crashed into a Peugeot 107 on the other side of the road. Bet the Peugeot driver didn't see this coming.

And if you haven't figured it out already from the dashcam-mounted camera, this accident took place in mother Russia.

Monstrous 1,000HP Jeep Grand Cherokee Takes on Audi R8 V10, Nissan GT-R and BMW X6M


Ah Russia, the land of great artists, endless distances, dashboard mounted cameras and 1,000-horsepower Jeep Grand Cherokees challenging some of the fastest cars around.

In this match, we see the previous generation Grand Cherokee SRT-8 that's powered by a Stroker 7.2-liter supercharged V8 engine competing against a completely stock Audi R8 V10 5.2 with 525-horses, a Switzer-prepped Nissan GT-R R850 with 850-ponies and a BMW X6M by Evotech with 620-horsepower.

Chuck Norris Approved: Woman Driver Slips Between Two Trucks


In the face of danger, some people panic, usually with catastrophic results, while others keep their cool and make it through unscathed.

Such is the case with this female driver (or so the YouTube poster claims it's a woman) when she was passing a truck on the highway and suddenly a large dumpster entered the road.

Justice Served? Reckless Ford Focus Driver in Video Found Lying Upside Down


On Monday, we showed you a video of a thoughtless driver in a Ford Focus who endangered the lives of several people in Russia with his foolish road antics.

Today, we have an update on the story, courtesy of a Carscoop commentator who goes by the nickname 'europeon'.

Lucky Strike: Lada Rams into a Trolley Driver


Trolleys are an environmentally friendly mode of transportation with great benefits for bustling cities.

However, they are not trouble free as they draw electricity from overhead wires using spring-loaded trolley poles, which can come off the rails causing the electric bus to come to a halt.

In this event, the trolley driver has to come out and re-connect the poles to the wires. Usually it's more of a hassle than anything else, but sometimes it can be much more dangerous... Check out the video that follows and you'll see what we mean.

Nissan Plans to Revive Datsun Brand for Emerging Markets Including Russia, Indonesia and India


It's been more than two decades since Nissan Motors phased out its Datsun brand to strengthen its own company name.

But times and circumstances changes and here we are with Nissan now planning to wake up its old Datsun brand from the dead, according to a report from Japanese business daily Nikkei that was forwarded by Reuters.

The newspaper said that Nissan wants to use the Datsun brand name on a new lineup of low cost vehicles tailor made for emerging markets starting from 2014. The move is reminiscent of Renault's decision to buy out the Romanian automaker Dacia in 1999 for the same purpose.

Would You Consider this Skoda Octavia Incident a Win or a Fail?


The video you're about to check out after the break starts off with the driver of a Skoda Octavia overtaking one too many cars on a fairly narrow road with one lane for each direction.

Nissan Reveals New Almera Sedan for Russia, goes on Sale Next Year


The Almera nameplate is set to make a return to Nissan's lineup as a compact-sized sedan model, which the company says has been developed exclusively for Russia and will be manufactured locally in Togliatti on an all-new production line starting from early next year.

According to the Japanese automaker, Nissan engineering teams in Japan, the UK and Russia developed the new Almera.

However, the single photo released by Nissan, suggests otherwise as the new Almera appears to be based on the second generation of the Japanese market Bluebird Sylphy that uses Nissan's B-platform and which was introduced in the country back in 2005.

Tango for Two on Ice with Miss Subaru Impreza and Mr. UAZ Patriot


Classy but at the same time dramatic and seductive, the tango is an impressive dance that was born in the 19th century along the shores of the Rio de la Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montevideo, Uruguay, but has since spread throughout the world.
